Tixel is integrated with Opendate. This means that you can connect your Opendate account to your Tixel account.
Once the integration is activated and a ticket is resold on Tixel, it will be cancelled and a brand new Opendate ticket with a new barcode will be issued to the buyer in their Tixel account. The buyer’s name will also be updated on the ticket.
All resale will be tracked in Opendate reporting as well so that you can see cancelled tickets and the new Tixel buyer’s information.
How to set up an Opendate Event
- Head to the Organizer Login
- Once you’re logged in, click “Add Event” in the top right corner.
- Search and select Opendate from the dropdown list.

- Access your Tixel ID in Opendate by logging into to Opendate and heading to your Integration Settings. Search for Tixel and click Connect. Enable the integration.
- Click the copy button next to the Tixel ID and paste it into Tixel and Save.

- Select the events that you’d like to add to Tixel. Note that events must be public in order for them to appear on this page. Make sure to click “List this event”!

Note: If you’d like to sync all published Opendate events to Tixel automatically, go to the organizer dashboard by clicking “Manage events,” select “Apps & Integrations,” and then toggle “Automatically import future events” on the Opendate section. This is a great way to automate the event set up process for Opendate events!

Features
Opendate automatically links to Tixel when an event or ticket tier sells out. Fans can click the “Go to Fan Exchange” button to go directly to the Tixel waitlist. To enable this, in Opendate, go to Tickets > Settings and then toggle on “Redirect to Tixel Enabled.”

Communicating Tixel to your Audience
We’d recommend including Tixel as a part of your ticketing FAQs, socials, and emails to drive traffic to integrated, safe, and fair resale with Tixel.
Once integrated, Tixel will appear as an option for your audience automatically across your events. Ticket holders will see the option to resell a ticket on Tixel in their confirmation emails and in their Opendate account.

Audience education is important for capturing the resale market. Our Marketing guide provides examples of best practices for including Tixel in your FAQs, socials, and marketing emails. Key best practices include:
- Include Tixel as a part of the FAQs on your website. Mention Tixel is as an alternative to refunds.
- Introduce Tixel on socials as your preferred fan to fan resale partner and add your Tixel venue page to your link in bio.
- For sold out events, include the Tixel link in social posts to encourage anyone who missed out on tickets to join the waitlist and sellers to list their tickets on Tixel if they can’t make it
- Note: You can access the fan link to any Tixel event by clicking the link icon on the event or going to Manage Events and clicking the link icon next to the event
