Important Eventbrite Settings for Events Using Tixel

Below are some important things to know about settings and reporting in Eventbrite when an event is integrated with Tixel.

1. Hidden Ticket Types

Tixel creates hidden “Temporary Tier for Transfers” via API in order to facilitate the ticket transfer once a ticket is sold. This tier will not be visible to the public. Do not delete the Temporary Tier or else tickets will not transfer as expected.

For general admission events, there will be one resale tier. For sectioned events, each section gets its own resale tier.

2. Adding or Changing Ticket Types

If you add new ticket types or rename existing ones in Eventbrite you will need to sync the changes with Tixel to prevent any issues with ticket transfers for the edited tiers. To resync:

  • Go to the event in Tixel and click on the Event Settings Tab > Ticket Settings
  • Change the dropdown next to the event image from Global Settings to Eventbrite
  • At the bottom of the page select “Sync event”

3. Suppressed PDFs

If you have disabled printable tickets on the Eventbrite event, contact Tixel at events@tixel.com to request that we also suppress PDFs for Tixel buyers.

4. Eventbrite Order Form Settings

We recommend disabling the option for attendees to edit their own details after registering. This eliminates the risk of scammers changing the name on their Eventbrite ticket and potentially creating multiple copies of a ticket with the same barcode via other platforms.

Reporting in Eventbrite

Tickets sold through Tixel will appear as transferred orders in your Eventbrite reports. You’ll also see an order note explaining why the original ticket was cancelled.
